God has your back, don’t despair…

You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. You have laid your hand on me!
Psalms 139:5 TPT

Sometimes when life knocks you down, you lose sight of God. You pray and feel like God is not answering, you trust him but feel he has let you down. As a committed child of God, you doubt your faith and think maybe others pray differently. David as a man close to God’s heart also faced the same dilemma God, listen to my cry; pay attention to my prayer! When my heart is weak, I cry out to you from the very ends of the earth. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I am
Psalms 61:1‭-‬2 CEB

When going through tough times and it seem like you loosing the battle, know God said When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:2 KJV. God did not say there won’t be fires or deep water but said when you go through them I will have your back.

One day you will look back and realize he was there because when all things fall apart you focus on the pain, the frustration, the emptiness, the loneliness, the impossibilities and he seem far away while near. When your eyes become clear and you see his grace, you will be amazed on how you made it. The song of praise will be on your lips ” Hante Jeso una mpona, haki tsamaya tseleng e thatha” translation ‘ Was Jesus seeing me as I walked through the difficult journey’

God has your back always

You won’t go out in a rush, nor will you run away, because the one going before you is the LORD; your rear guard is the God of Israel.
Isaiah 52:12 CEB

Then your light will break out like the dawn, and you will be healed quickly. Your own righteousness will walk before you, and the LORD’s glory will be your rear guard.
Isaiah 58:8 CEB

But the LORD is the one who is marching before you! He is the one who will be with you! He won’t let you down. He won’t abandon you. So don’t be afraid or scared!”
Deuteronomy 31:8 CEB

God has your back always.

What is the poverty of the mind?

If you work hard at what you do, great abundance will come to you. But merely talking about getting rich while living to only pursue your pleasures brings you face-to-face with poverty.
Proverbs 14:23 TPT

Most people grew up in families where they were poor, but that did not stop them to being successful. I have learnt that poverty of the mind is more dangerous because you cannot see a way out and you feel stuck. While ordinary poverty is a temporary state of lack that can be overcome by focusing on succeeding and finding solutions.

that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:45 KJV. God gives us all equal opportunities and he does not decide for us what we should do with the time given. The choices we make determine how our time is used. Going back to poverty mindset, when you begin to see yourself entitled to things you did not work for. Ask yourself what makes you entitled? People when they begin to think that other people have money therefore they must give them things or government must support them, with their children. Those are signs of poverty of the mind.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His Lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Matthew 25:15‭, ‬20‭-‬21‭, ‬24‭-‬26 KJV. When in poverty you always desire to get out of the situation. I have seen rich people loose it all and stay on the streets but bounce back and become more richer. Poverty in their life was a temporary state because they still had the abilities and talents to rise again.

Poverty of the mind is the ‘poor me’ state of mind we see in the man given one talent. When his Lord came, he had all excuses why he did nothing with what was given to him. Poverty of the mind always makes you a victim and makes you a beggar. You can’t think beyond your circumstances. Someone might say, let’s go and sell atchaar or drinks and you will say I am not good at selling and someone say let’s go and wash cars and answer will be I can’t work with water the mind always has an excuses. I can’t clean houses because I have a degree. This mindset is too dangerous and lead to depression, suicide and disgruntlement. Think of a father who go on TV and fight with a woman for a child grant, where is the dignity, pride and desire to be a provider. The mind tells you that you are entitled and in the process you loose self respect, dignity, self love and pride.

I pray that as children of God we don’t fall into a trap of the poverty of the mindset where we can not be able to help each other because we see ourselves as the ones who need help more. I pray we see ourselves as God sees us and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.Romans 8:17 KJV.

Kingdom Principles 2

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4 KJV

Mourning is related to loss, so in the world it does not make sense to say you blessed when you mourn. Our kingdom operates differently that we get blessed when we mourn.

“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you. Matthew 5:4 MSG. When we lose something or someone dear to our hearts, we get lost ourselves in pain and grief. People can come and give comforting words or send messages of comfort but we don’t hear anything because we are lost. This is the time when we find comfort from the One most dear, because he created our hearts and knows how to massage them.

What delight comes to you when you wait upon the Lord! For you will find what you long for. Matthew 5:4 TPT. When the pain is unbearable and you can’t even sleep. You think until your mind ask God to help you because nothing can numb the pain. You long for him and him alone and you wait for him to give you relief.

In life most often we walk and live like we are in charge. Some even forget about God and they find other idols to worship. When they loose someone dear to their hearts, that is when they realize their idols are useless and can’t help them. That is why the word says they are blessed because in their moment of loss they become aware of their creator. Think of it, without experiencing loss they will not come back to the kingdom of God and that will be complete loss.

Those living in kingdom they mourn the loss and get blessed because in loss they need comfort knowing the is hope. Loss is not absolute.

It’s ok, not to be ok⁉️

in my distress I cried out to you, the delivering God, and from your temple-throne you heard my troubled cry, and my sobs went right into your heart.
Psalms 18:6 TPT

Sometimes as Christians we think it is question our faith or God’s ability when we don’t feel ok. As Christians we have not graduated from being humans. We cannot live life like we immune from problems. Jesus said don’t take them from this world even though they are not of this world.

In my distress I cried out to the LORD; I cried out to my God. God heard my voice from his temple; my cry for help reached his ears. 2 Samuel 22:7 CEB. David a man who was close to God’s heart also got distressed and cried to God. After removing him, God raised up David to be king, for God said of him, ‘I have found in David, son of Jesse, a man who always pursues my heart and will accomplish all that I have destined him to do.Acts 13:22 TPT

So it’s ok not to be ok, cry to the Lord it does not make you weak or faithless but allows you to be human. O God, hear my prayer. Listen to my heart’s cry. For no matter where I am, even when I’m far from home, I will cry out to you for a father’s help. When I’m feeble and overwhelmed by life, guide me into your glory, where I am safe and sheltered.
Psalms 61:1‭-‬2 TPT. Life sometimes will knock you down but you won’t be down forever. Yes sometimes it gets dark to darker but the sun will definitely shine again. Cry, scream to the Lord, he will hear your sufferings and answer.

But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high; With all my might I shout up to God, His answers thunder from the holy mountain.
Psalms 3:3‭-‬4 MSG

Our kingdom Principles Part 1

You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
Matthew 5:3 MSG

God’s kingdom principles are different from earthly kingdom Principles. How can you feel blessed when you are at the end of your rope. When considering earthly kingdom, end of rope that is when you get depressed and others become suicidal.

You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
Matthew 5:3 MSG .At the end of the rope, is when you know and realise that you can’t do anything on your own and you need God more than ever. Your independence stops and your intelligence can’t provide solutions and you realise only God can help you. That is when you get blessed when less of you and more of God prevails. When ME and I is swallowed by it’s only God that can do this.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 KJV. Most often it takes us to be broken and crushed to receive the kingdom of heaven. When we poor in Spirit and at our wits end. Having tried it all and failed, we get to a place of being blessed in the Kingdom of God. This is the opposite of the earthly kingdom because when you down and out no one wants to be next to you. You also avoid people because you know they’ll judge you and make you feel worse.

The kingdom of heaven is waiting to bless you and don’t seek it when you down and out but seek it now.

A cake… what does this mean?

Don’t owe anything to anyone, except your outstanding debt to continually love one another, for the one who learns to love has fulfilled every requirement of the law.
Romans 13:8 TPT

As I sit in the secret place of prayer, praying about something that hurt me, I hear this strong voice in my spirit saying ‘cake’ I ask the Holy Spirit really cake and what does it mean. The answer I got supriced me ‘ look at the ingredients in a cake- flour is tasteless, sugar is sweet, butter, milk, baking powder etc all have different taste and texture but combined they make a tasty, beautiful cake.’ My eyes were opened that the Holy Spirit was talking about the pain I was feeling to say ‘ I must’nt think I am immune to hurting others and learn to accept that people are different and think differently. I should not to allow myself to have sleepless nights because I am hurting but learn to ask for God to Keep creating in me a clean heart. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you.
Psalms 51:10 TPT

It also dawned on me For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him. Romans 8:29 TPT. God knows how messed up some of us are, some have questionable characters, some have serious painful past that will make us to keep hurting others. We are just different ingredients in a cake and he is working on us to be like our eldest brother Jesus. So we should learn to be patient with each other.

Sometimes hurting people tend to hurt others and when you are hurt, you only see your pain and deduce that some people are evil while they are going through something themselves. So the Holy Spirit will always remind you that it’s not always about you but about accepting even those who are difficult to love because they are part of the cake ingredients. We are not to judge and write off others because even ourselves are God’s project who change the former way of life that was part of the person you once were, corrupted by deceitful desires. Instead, renew the thinking in your mind by the Spirit. Ephesians 4:22‭-‬23 CEB.

The Holy Spirit was teaching me to accept others in a creative way also learn to forgive and love. I think if he said forgive and forget I was not going to engage him with questions but he gave me something that was abstract to engage and end up understanding. Is it easy to accept and forgive? definitely no but when you yield to the Holy Spirit teaching, allowing yourself to be guided and led, it will take time especially when the cut is too deep.

I pray God to teach us how to surrender and die to self daily so not to lose our crown. To understand that pain is a process of building our character. Learn to accept the journey as Paul when he said “To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.Philippians 3:8 TPT this is my daily prayer for us as we pursue to know and be like Jesus Christ daily. Amen

The Gifts of Speaking🗣

A demonstration of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good.
1 Corinthians 12:7 CEB

I would be explaining the gifts of speaking knowing that that children of God has the ability to speak things to existence. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 KJV.

I have categorized and grouped these gifts as speaking gift, prophecy, speaking in tongues and interpretation of toungues. to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV.

Speaking in tongues or unknown language is the most problematic and misunderstood gift in the church and I have made a decision to speak about tongues as a spiritual gift not baptism. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2 KJV. When one prays or speak in tongues, s/he speak to God mysteries and they edify themselves. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 1 Corinthians 14:14‭-‬15 KJV. When you pray or sing in tongues you praying in the Spirit and your mind does not understand the mystery you speaking. So when you have this gift use it to pray and sing to yourself and don’t want to impress people about your gift. Remember not everyone will be given the same gift.

When you speak in tongues in the church make sure what you saying is interpreted. So some can be given a gift of interpreting of toungues. So if no one is able to interpret what is being said then keep tongues to praying and singing to your moments of speaking to God. So this means you can pray in church in tongues but you cannot speak to people unless there is an interpreter or you can interpret.

Prophecy is also a gift of speaking but must always be done with love. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 1 Corinthians 14:4 KJV. Prophecy edify the church. But when someone prophesies, he speaks to encourage people, to build them up, and to bring them comfort. 1 Corinthians 14:3 TPT. Prophecy should encourage, build and comfort but should not bring fear , embarrassment and discouragement. When people’s character has been developed by the Holy Spirit as they receive gifts and use them they become humble, compassionate and full of love that when spiritual gifts are manifested does not split the church but build it.

Most often we given gifts but we not aware of the gift. Sometimes you will find yourself praying in a language you don’t understand or growning as you pray and you start thinking something is wrong with you. Please learn not to quench the spirit but keep on praying and asking the Holy Spirit to tell you what is happening. Sometimes you will have the urge to tell someone something you don’t know where it’s coming from, you might be led by the Spirit to prophesy. I once had this voice saying I must pray with someone and I thought its absurd cause I did not know whether the person was a Christian or nor but since the voice was persistent I ended up asking to pray with them. They agreed as I was praying I was not aware I was praying for their situation after prayer she was sobbing so much and said thank you. She asked how did I know what she was going through and I explained that I was led by the Holy Spirit and that does not make me a prophet but its yielding to the Spirit prompting.

When we stubborn and fear what others will say if we use the gifts, God will use even animals to speak. The donkey saw the LORD’s messenger and lay down underneath Balaam. Balaam became angry and beat the donkey with the rod. Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you that you’ve beaten me these three times?” The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, on whom you’ve often ridden to this day? Have I been in the habit of doing this to you?” Balaam said, “No.” Numbers 22:27‭-‬28‭, ‬30 CEB

Our next episode will be about what I call revelation gifts
